Researchers crack power-saving formula for next-gen wireless networks
Scientists have solved a longstanding optimization puzzle in non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA), a wireless technology that lets devices share networks more efficiently. Their algorithm could help carriers reduce power consumption and cut operating costs while serving more users on existing infrastructure.
Originaltitel: On Power Minimization for Non-orthogonal Multiple Access (NOMA)
Abstrakt

We formulate a power optimization problem for non-orthogonal multiple access systems mathematically, and prove its NP-hardness. For tackling the problem, we first identify a convex problem by relaxation. Based on this convexity, we then propose an efficient "relax-then-adjust" algorithm and provide results of performance evaluation.
