Transformational Leadership Drives Employee Motivation Better Than Other Styles

A new analysis confirms that how leaders manage—not just what they decide—significantly impacts worker productivity and loyalty. The finding matters as companies wrestle with retention and performance: transformational leaders, who inspire and develop their teams, outperform those using command-and-control or transactional approaches in boosting employee commitment and initiative.

Abstrakt

This article analyzes the impact of leadership styles on employee motivation and the role of motivational factors in effective management processes. The study examines how transformational, transactional, and democratic leadership styles influence employee performance, commitment, and intrinsic motivation in modern organizations. In addition, the theoretical aspects of motivation are explained based on Maslow’s hierarchy of needs and Herzberg’s two-factor theory. A survey and analytical methods were used as the research methodology. The findings indicate that effective leadership significantly increases employees’ job satisfaction, initiative, and organizational commitment. In particular, transformational leadership was identified as having the strongest motivational impact. The results of the study are important for improving human resource management systems, increasing labor productivity, and creating a positive work environment in organizations.
