New math model predicts how cell membranes bend and flex under stress
Researchers have developed a mathematical framework that describes how biological membranes deform when exposed to physical forces and electric fields. The work could improve design of artificial tissues, drug delivery systems, and biomedical devices that rely on membrane behavior.
