Botanist's 60-year mission mapped Africa's plant diversity for future research
Inga Hedberg, who died at 96, spent six decades cataloging African plant species alongside her husband—work that created foundational data for conservation, agriculture, and drug discovery efforts. Her Flora of Ethiopia and Eritrea remains a critical reference for researchers and policymakers developing strategies around food security and biodiversity protection across the continent.
