Online depression treatment works better when patients choose their own path
A new study shows that giving patients control over their depression treatment online—letting them pick what to focus on and get help when they need it—produces better results than one-size-fits-all programs. The finding suggests mental health providers and insurers should redesign digital therapy platforms to prioritize patient autonomy.
