New imaging technique reveals how brain inflammation damages nerve insulation in MS

Researchers have developed a combined imaging approach that simultaneously maps immune cell activation and nerve fiber damage in multiple sclerosis patients. The technique could accelerate drug development by providing a direct way to measure whether experimental treatments actually reduce the brain inflammation driving MS progression.
