PET scans predict which esophageal cancer patients will survive chemotherapy

A new study shows that imaging scans taken during chemotherapy can identify which esophageal cancer patients will respond well to treatment—and which won't. The finding could help oncologists adjust treatment plans earlier, potentially improving survival rates and reducing unnecessary drug exposure for patients unlikely to benefit.
