New brain imaging test could help track Parkinson's disease progression
Researchers have validated a PET imaging technique that directly measures dopamine loss in the brain and correlates strongly with Parkinson's severity and motor symptoms. The finding could enable better patient monitoring and faster assessment of whether experimental treatments are working.
