Blood metal levels could become first diagnostic test for ALS
Researchers have identified metal ratios in blood as potential biomarkers for amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, a fatal neurodegenerative disease with no cure. If validated, a simple blood test could enable earlier diagnosis and faster enrollment in clinical trials, accelerating drug development and improving patient outcomes.
