Blood test could predict dangerous side effects from MS drug alemtuzumab

Researchers identified antibody markers that forecast which multiple sclerosis patients will develop secondary autoimmune diseases after alemtuzumab treatment. The finding could help clinicians identify high-risk patients upfront, potentially avoiding costly complications and hospitalizations while improving treatment selection for the estimated 400,000 MS patients in the U.S.
