Brain networks show lasting disruption in extremely premature infants
Children born extremely prematurely display abnormal resting-state brain network activity that persists into childhood, according to new research in Cerebral Cortex. The finding could inform early screening protocols and long-term neurodevelopmental support strategies for the fastest-growing segment of neonatal intensive care survivors.
