Childhood trauma linked to brain disorders in drug-exposed youth

A Nordic study tracking children exposed to substances before birth found that adverse childhood experiences significantly increased their risk of neurodevelopmental disorders. The findings suggest policymakers need integrated support systems addressing both prenatal exposure and environmental trauma to reduce long-term disability rates and healthcare costs.
